In Galatians 1, Paul gives a severe warning: even if an angel from heaven preaches a different gospel, that message must be rejected. Something can feel spiritual, sound convincing, attract millions of views, and still be false.
In this episode of Deeper Dive, we examine how Scripture tells us to test spiritual claims, teachers, podcasts, sermons, Reels, and TikToks. Christian content can be helpful, but an algorithm cannot replace Scripture, accountability, or belonging to a local church.
We’ll ask:
Does the message agree with Scripture?
What does it teach about Jesus?
Who receives the glory?
What kind of fruit does it produce?
Can the teacher be questioned and corrected?
Your favorite preacher does not outrank Scripture. Your feelings do not outrank Scripture. A powerful experience does not outrank Scripture.
Test everything. Hold on to what is good. Reject anything that distorts the gospel or diminishes Christ, even if an angel says it.
